Testimonial 8: Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Fucoidan

June 5, 2020

The following story is the testimonial of a person living in China. She is currently enjoying her life because of Fucoidan. I hope the testimonial gives you encouragement and much-needed hope to expect a bright future.

In late December of 2012, my daughter had an annual routine medical checkup. After reviewing the examination report, the doctor found some dangerous elements in the blood work. She was advised to go to the Shanghai Ruijin Hospital for a further blood test. The result from a bone biopsy examination showed that my daughter had acute myeloid leukemia M6 and needed an immediate bone marrow transplantation. What a shock! She is our only child, and she was only 39 years old. The news was just too much to take. We were already in our 70s, going on to 80. Though we were the parents, we were not an option for stem cells paring due to our age. The only treatment option left was chemotherapy.

We knew that our daughter was in a life-threatening critical condition. She had her first 7-day chemotherapy from December 24th, 2012, to January 22nd, 2013, and her leukocyte count dropped to 0.3, blood platelet count dropped to 8, and hemoglobin dropped to 51. The adverse conditions brought her severe fever, mouth ulcers, and herpes labialis, which made her dieting unbearably painful and challenging.

During those tough times and while we were facing our desperate anxiety, one of our colleagues introduced the Fucoidan to us. Without hesitation, I ordered it. My daughter started taking it with a dose of 10 tablets a day, and then in the second inpatient chemotherapy (from February 6th to 12th, 2013), she increased to 20 tablets (distributed over four times) a day. Since taking Fucoidan, my daughter faced lesser side effects from the chemotherapy. Eventually, she was beginning to get much relief. She no longer suffered from nausea, and her appetite was improved, and her excretion process became more manageable than before.

My daughter became much more confident of the Fucoidan as it helped her with the following hospitalizations and treatments:

  • March 15th – 23rd, 2013: Third inpatient chemotherapy treatment.
  • March 31st – April 11th, 2013: Hospitalized due to abnormal leukocyte count.
  • April 23rd – May 1st, 2013: Fourth inpatient chemotherapy treatment.
  • May 9th – June 12th, 2013: Hospitalized due to abnormal leukocyte count.
  • August 10th – 13th, 2013: Fifth chemotherapy treatment.

However, after a bone biopsy, the cancer was found to have gone into remission, and the doctor suggested suspending further treatment. My daughter then started to take Chinese traditional medicine for recuperation.

From the very beginning, we always have and consistently urged her to take Fucoidan. Recently on October 29th, she had another routine blood test, and the result showed the three major indexes were in the normal range: the leukocyte count was 7.09, Blood platelet 116, and hemoglobin 115. Since checking out of the hospital on August 23rd, my daughter had gained 20kg in weight. Moreover, she looks great, just like an average person. Now, she enjoys a healthy life and stays away from hospitalization. We believe, and trust Fucoidan is a tremendous medical treatment aid, which helps stabilize the immunity during chemotherapy treatments.
